Referral credit

Referral credit is created through an eligible signup referral.

It can apply automatically to eligible subtotal and may have no minimum spend. It cannot cover shipping, taxes, or fees.

For more detail, see current Whatnot shipping rates.

Seller coupon

A seller coupon can be fixed amount or percentage based. It may require:

  • First purchase
  • Specific show
  • Minimum subtotal
  • Maximum discount

Coupons work during eligible live-show purchases and do not apply to offers.

Stacking

When both a coupon and referral credit apply, Whatnot says the coupon is applied first, followed by referral credit.

Coupons generally cannot stack with other coupons.

Worth checking before you bid: avoid overpaying because of a discount.

Points

Points are earned through available challenges. Challenges can change daily and may be personalized.

Points unlock current rewards in the Points Shop. They should not be described as cash.

Rewards Club

Rewards Club belongs to one seller.

Benefits can include:

  • Coupons
  • Tier-only shows
  • Badges
  • Seller-defined rewards

Progress can reset by season. Some coupons have a five-day grace period after a season ends.

Best use order

  1. Start with an item that is already fairly priced.
  2. Check seller coupon eligibility.
  3. Confirm referral credit.
  4. Check shipping.
  5. Use amount-off coupons on a subtotal large enough to use the value.
  6. Review the receipt.

Common mistakes

  • Calling a referral link a coupon code
  • Assuming credit pays shipping
  • Assuming Rewards Club works across sellers
  • Expecting unused amount-off value to remain
  • Bidding higher because of a discount
  • Relying on a coupon for an offer
